1. Overview
SmartChat is a customer support and commerce automation system used to manage customer-initiated conversations from connected messaging channels, including Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct, and to support order-related assistance for connected stores.
2. Information We Collect
SmartChat may process administrator account data, connected channel metadata, Facebook Page identifiers, Instagram business account identifiers, customer message content, sender identifiers provided by Meta, conversation history, store configuration, and order-related information needed to provide support.
3. How We Use Information
We use this information to receive customer messages, display conversations to authorized operators, generate automated support replies, allow manual replies from operators, route conversations to the correct assistant or store, and provide order-related customer service.
4. Meta Platform Data
When an administrator connects a Facebook Page through Meta Login, SmartChat uses the permissions granted by the administrator to receive and respond to customer-initiated Messenger conversations. Page Access Tokens are stored server-side and are used only to operate the selected Page connection and send responses through Meta's official APIs.
5. Data Sharing
SmartChat does not sell personal data. Customer conversation data is not shared with advertisers or data brokers. Data is used only to operate the SmartChat service, provide customer support, and support connected commerce workflows.
6. Data Retention
Conversation and configuration data may be retained while the SmartChat account or connected store remains active. Data may be deleted upon request, subject to operational, legal, fraud prevention, and security requirements.
7. Security
SmartChat stores access credentials and tokens server-side and uses authenticated access for its administrative panel. Access should be limited to authorized business operators.
8. User Choices and Deletion
Users may request deletion of their data by following the instructions on the Data Deletion Instructions page.
